SOME HANDY TIPS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO LAS VEGAS: Seat belts and child restraint seats are required. As a new resident, you have 45 days to obtain a driver's license and to register any and all vehicles that you plan to keep with you in Nevada. To obtain your license, you must provide proof of your social security number (for example, social security card; W-2 form; printed payroll check showing this information; old income tax return). If you want to expedite the wait time for a driver's license, you may want to call DMV's INFOLINE at (702) 486-4DMV. You may also want to consider making an appointment. When applying for Nevada registration, you will need: the out-of-state license plates; the title of ownership (unless it is held by a lien holder); vehicle inspection certificate; your most recent registration certificate; a Nevada-approved insurance card from a Nevada-licensed insurance agent; a Nevada smog emission certificate; an odometer reading; and, in the case of a leased car, a copy of the leasing agreement. The minimum, vehicular insurance coverage requirements are: $15,000 bodily injury; $30,000 per-person, per-accident; $10,000 property damage. The public bus system, Citizens Area Transit (CAT) runs all over the Las Vegas valley. For more information, call: (702) 228-7433. Just spend a little time in Las Vegas and get well acquainted with its many different, accommodating (and sunny!) aspects. You will be glad that you did, and you will probably opt to stay in Las Vegas for good, like hundreds of thousands of other people (including 19-year resident, Tracey!) who are now southern Nevadans and comprise this fantastic, ever-developing community! "Please either e-mail me or call me at 1-800-401-2224 or 702-375-0712 - I would be delighted to answer any questions that you may have concerning living in Las Vegas!"
